"Excellent!" Adelinde chirps when her plan seems to work without a hitch, her tail wagging slightly despite her exhaustion. "I don't suppose you could keep doing that could you?" She asks the small unicorn who responds with an equine snort that somehow sounds pompous and self absorbed and another flare of magic.

Adelinde for her part focuses on her own magic with another short bars of melodic chanting, attacking the swarm again while focusing some of her bardic magic to linger around the genasi for her to use as needed.

"err...I suppose you could say it is. I've often partaken in games of strategy with my family of a similar nature but I've never actually found myself fighting in such numbers..." She admits somewhat awkwardly once her magic is sung.

"Hmph! Thou are but children! As a princess I have been the victor in more wars than I could count on my hoof!" She says as she extends on of the aformentioned limbs dramatically before her before scrambling to keep her hold on the tiefling's head. After a moment of silence where the small unicorn seems to by trying to regain its' composure it continues. "....ahem!  Yes, why the Grand Vizier did not speak to me for a whole month after, not until her mane grew back!"

stuff:

The minicorn's spell works, and results once again in one of the massive ants stinging another, but unfortunately Adelinde's fails. While she's busy swatting away the swarm of ants trying to get at her, she gets bitten by one of the larger black ants. The large ant Ketha attacked just moments ago returns the favor by giving her a mighty bite.... before expiring from the nearby flames.

Noticing the ants turning on each other through Adelinde's (and friend's) magic, the wood elf lauds, "Well thought, Adelinde!" between blows. She continues trying not to focus on the minicorn until the immediate ant situation is dealt with.

Having sort of accepted her place and feeling much more calm now, the wood elf smoothly bumps the healing potion off her belt with an elbow between strikes, before spinning and bumping it in a soft arc towards the tiefling. "Heads up, Adelinde! I standby my initial statement; you may need it more than I."

The genasi focuses on her fire sphere, trying to encourage it to give its all even in these moments as its starts to disintegrate. "C'mon Flamey! You can do it! Burn them all down!"
The chipper countenance feels very off to the directness of the last statement.

Parveth's strikes swing shallowly and she takes some more damage, feeling like she's being slowly chipped away. The other enemy ants have a hard time getting at her allies. A swarm perishes from the dimming flaming sphere and another gets taken down by a combination of confusion from one of it's allies due to Adelinde's new friend's spell and Ketha's axe.

The wood elf sees that allied ants are starting to make a comeback, and that they only have to hold out for a bit more before they might be given even the briefest of respites. She fights on, her blades slowly grinding down the ants around her.

Steam continues to dodge duck dip dive and dodge the ants, but takes a moment to look to the minicorn and say about her smell, "Ooh! Lilac! That's a good one. Can you do like an ocean spray next?"
The flame ball rolls lazily towards the big ant, lashing out again as its flames begin spinning from existence.

Mechanics:

Parveth's last thrust is too much for the heavily wounded massive ant to take and it collapses as Steam's dimly burning sphere takes one last victim. Ketha barely manages to keep "her" swarm of ants from getting under her scales and Parveth fares less well with hers and nearly collapses from the pain and mounting blood loss. On the other hand Steam's swarm of ants is baffled by Adelinde's new companion's spell and attempts to seek another target only for Steam and Ketha to smash the ants out of the air. Some of the allied ants join them, but fail to do much to help quite yet.

The wood elf makes an overhand swing at the remaining dog-sized enemy, dragging the sword along the ground through the swarm around her as she turns to face Ketha. Her other sword makes several strikes towards the ants on the dragonborn. Despite her cuts and bruises and stings, she gives the dragonborn and tiefling what's intended as a reassuring grin. "Do not fret; I fight on."
She cringes a bit at the smell of the ocean.

The genasi nods solemnly as the last vestiges of flame disappear. She mumbles after it, "Take a break; you've earned it," before launching with a palm a crackling, crimson beam at the ants around the dragonborn. The cerulean last the  cracks her fingers audibly, pausing slightly before saying to the group, "Alright! I came here to cast magic and get bitten by ants. And I'm all out of ants."

Mechanics:

Parveth cuts down a "small" ant with ease and then with Steam's help destroys the swarm attacking Ketha... only for another to take it's place. Then with the aid of the nearby smaller allied ants, Parveth cuts down the rest of the swarm bothering her as well, though not before it almost bleeds her to unconsciousness.
