Alright everypony,
I thought I'd officially open up the new P-Files OOC thread, and to do it right, I thought I'd include a few key features:
First off, the ol' intro to New Orreigns (in case anyone wanted a refresher, or any new player, now or in the future, is curious) -
Also, here's a list of the PCs and links to their character sheets. Currently we've got a full party and are not accepting any new players, but if a spot opens up, I'll make it known:

First off, the ol' intro to New Orreigns (in case anyone wanted a refresher, or any new player, now or in the future, is curious) -
- The Location:
- New Orreigns is a port city in the southern reaches of Equestria. Located at the base of the Mustangippi River (which empties into the Gulf of Maneco), the city has slowly sunk further and further down into a bowl-shaped valley over the course of generations, due in no small part to the swamplands the city was founded on. The city itself actually lies below sea level, and this is why it’s surrounded on all sides by a levy system that protects the inhabitants from flooding (most of the time). New Orreigns is also surrounded by swampland, an area known as the Surefire Swamps, and these swamps are a popular tourist attraction, boasting beautiful scenery and a diverse bayou ecosystem outside the city limits. New Orreigns boasts a surprisingly large Zebra population, and the city itself is a popular tourist attraction for the centuries of culture it represents – bridging the gap between Pony and Zebra kind with shared history of food, architecture, and celebrations. Speaking of which, the city is legendary for its wild Maredi Gras parties and it’s delicious food (from oat-wheat jambalaya to hayseed gumbo to queen cake), which is exported all across Equestria.
Strangely enough, for a city that deals with so much Zebra traffic, the pony population often seems very distrustful of Zebra kind, and since the city’s founding, many Zebras have felt more comfortable at the city’s fringes, living in the slums, or even outside the city’s walls in the Surefire Swamps. There are rumors that this latter group of Zebras are “evil enchanters,” and visitors are warned not to cross their paths. But for all this racial tension, the city has come a long way from its original Zebra discriminating tendencies. So much so, that the much-loved current mayor of New Orreigns, Zechariah d’Orreigns, comes from a mixed parentage of Zebra and Earth Pony stock.
As far as the climate goes, New Orreigns and the surrounding area remain relatively warm and humid year-round. The pegasus weather ponies only ever make it snow once in a decade, but they make it rain often. Tropical storms and hurricanes are also not uncommon in the fall months during the Great Sea Serpent Migration (that’s why the city's strong levy system is necessary – along with a well-equipped Pegasus Weather Defense Force). Likewise, the summer months can be nigh-unbearable due to the oppressive heat and humidity. That’s why most ponies try to spend the longest days of summer in-doors (with air-conditioning).
Our quest begins in early spring, one month away from the most anticipated event of the year, the Festival of Maredi Gras. Business is booming, tourism is just starting to pick up after the winter months, and many companies are looking to hire new staff for the season. Colleges throughout the city are also beginning a new spring semester, and all in all, it's a great time to be a young (or old) colt or filly entering the city for the first time.

So I amended my previous post for allowing B Rog around a bit. I didn't feel very heroic after suggesting that, so I say we send him packing. He gets to keep whatever fear he's already got, but he needs to leave both ponies alone.

^That is a pretty cool avatar Cardbo. It'll take me a little while to remember who you are now that you've changed your "face," but I'll get used to it.
Also, just so everypony can enjoy it - and since Ramsus specifically asked me to share it - a while back, Whisper made a streetwise check to recall any knowledge she might have on the Balrog.
She recalled a nursery rhyme that her dad used to tell her before every night before bed when she was just a filly. Below you can find it in full...
"Beware the Balrog, my dear!
The mouth that lies, the eye that spies!

Neat. I'd share what Xand sent me, but its a long 2 page essay on Nitemare ecology. What I think I'll do is when the new IC thread is up, I'll copy it into Libram for everypony to see.

Well, the Rose Armor is certainly better than nothing. We're keeping Biscuits, by any logic that allows that we might be able to keep the armors. Though it would probably look really weird on our characters in the "real" world.

I think I'm not going to be able to post here tonight since it took a while to post in W2 (among other things...) - but on the plus side, I will allow you enough time to each make one heal check on a party member

Hey guys,
I'm going to wait until tomorrow night before typing up a reply to DB's latest post - I've spent way too much time today RPing as is.
That typed however - and in relation to my next post - I'd like everyone to go through all the PT/LL combat items from the official supplements, and choose weapons, armor, and trinkets totaling up to 15,000 Gold (the same amount a Lvl 10 character would have, I believe). Keep in mind that you can only use 1 weapon, 1 armor, and 3 trinkets at a time (unless that's been changed without my knowing), but you can switch between different weapons over the course of a battle if you have the urge to do so.
When you've chosen all your gear, post it here.
I feel that this is going to be quite the interesting experiment...
EDIT: Also, I know that at least one person was asking if they could use their new combat build in the boss fight. If they update their combat build though, I'd want everyone to use their updated builds (if they have one). So would you guys prefer to start fresh with your new combat builds (in which case, Chitin would lose the effects of Midnight's Blade), or would you like to still keep your old combat builds for now?

Reduce the energy cost of talents you use to conjure creatures or weapons by 2 energy. The costs can’t be reduced to below 0.

Soap Opera Disease(Talisman of Incurable Illness) - 4000 gold
Trinket
Enemies suffer a -4 penalty to saving throws against (save ends) effects that you bestow on them.
Whats that cough? Its probably cancer.

Inspiring Words
Whenever you target an ally with a single target power, that ally may roll 2d8. For each 8 rolled, you and that ally both gain 1 energy.
Sleight Of Hand - Immediate Interrupt [5/battle]
Trigger - A coin is flipped and you dislike the result
Effect - Re-flip the coin and take the second result.

Once per battle, if you possess a Conjure Weapon combat talent, you may reduce the cost of the Conjure Weapon talent by 3 energy. This cannot reduce the cost to below 0.
(Just an aspect of her being worked up)
Vicious Hawkeye - 5000
Trinket
You may use the following combat talent.
[0] Predator’s Sight - Minor Utility
Choose a creature. That creature becomes your Prey until the end of the battle or until you use this talent again. Once per round, when you make an attack against that creature, you may have that attack deal +2d6 damage to that creature.

Training Diploma - 4000 Gold
Trinket
When you purchase this item, choose two traits that you meet the prerequisites for. While you have the Training Diploma equipped, you are considered to have the chosen traits. You may equip more than one Training Diploma at once.
Fast Gambit
You may make an additional minor action each turn, but you cannot use it to make attacks.
Iron Warden
When you attack a creature, you may ‘challenge’ that creature until the end of your next turn. Your allies have resist 3 to damage dealt by creatures you have challenged. A creature cannot be challenged by more than one creature at a time and a new ‘challenge’ supersedes the first.
(A green circlet like decoration that goes on over her horn and rests on her face at the base. It matches the armor in material and motif with the vines wrapping around her head as a circlet and the rose around the base of her horn.)

-Just to clarify guys, but you haven't gotten all your gear just yet. I'm waiting on DB to post again before I get to that.
Also, I guess if Xel wants to use his lightning lance, we can keep things simple and just re-roll initiative when we get into combat.

Well I think I picked these kinda unsure if we were keeping them... And equally unsure if we're rolling initive or not.... (I'm fine with us not) But either way, I'm really not in love with this item set at all now... So instend I'm going to take this item set up. Hey guys,
Just a heads up, but I think we'll just go ahead and reroll initiative and start fresh (with PiPs and statuses anyway - I'll decide on whether you regain health or not tonight though) for this next fight. You guys can roll your own initiatives today if you want, or I'll take care of it tonight when I start typing something up.
