Hum's in the Dark

Josotox lands his ship in space station 13 of the Feranar system, a waystation for those who find themselves in need of a pit-stop while traveling the stars. The interior of Josotox's particular ship calls for a crew of specific skills, as it is almost impossible to navigate via normal means, he hopes to find this crew here. Actually, speaking of the odd design of the ship, the person he got it from was rather odd himself. He didn't look like he knew a thing about ship design, and he kept chuckling to himself when he thought nobody was listening. He also seemed to disappear rather quickly after the deal was done. Josotox thought about this to himself as he stepped out of his ship into the space station, at least this looks to be the place to look when it comes to crew members...

Naomi was in a bar called "The Sunken Ship", strange name for a bar but it seemed to be pretty popular on space station 13. The person she got a ride to here from was a bit shifty, she barely had to ask for a ride and he didn't even bat an eye at her chair, it was pretty odd considering all the additions that he completely ignored. The trip was also a quiet one, save for the music, the guy just didn't ask questions. What was really strange, however, happened just a few minutes ago when he dropped Naomi off. As she got out he said "Have a nice day, Naomi" with a smirk, despite never being told Naomi's name. As she reflected on this she saw a small ship pull into the space station and an Erinyess with a smug, self-important look step out.

It was pretty lonely in space, Unit-Bl4K-B34RD V10.3923 knew this well. He'd been floating around for a few years now, quietly drifting rather slowly in a direction. It really was a change of pace from the lively nature of his old crews ship, which was almost always bursting with activity and livelihood, isolation really isn't all it's cracked up to be. Luckily though, Bl4K-B34RD noticed he was drifting towards a space station. His optical scanners detected that, in some sort of cosmic luck, he was drifting straight towards its docking station and that he'll arrive within the hour. It seems things are going to get a lot less lonely very quickly.

As she saw the ship and the Erinyess, Naomi thought to herself, "Now that's a ship I would actually like to ride on, unlike all the other junkers and cargo ships around here. And boy that's a mark if I've ever seen one. This is too good to pass up." Then she floated over in her chair, not too close and not looking too interested and just looked over the ship in more detail as casually as she could manage.

Naomi saw that it had a rather unusual design, with a sort of bulb at the back that, as far as you could tell, was the main tesseracting engine. From what she could see of the interior thanks to a few windows the whole thing was a mess, almost impossible to navigate if you couldn't fly or hover or walk on walls. Pretty useful if some enemies decided they wanted to board you, only to find themselves trapped in the twisting halls.

Josotox was running some basic maintenance on his ship when he noticed a vulpenid in a hoverchair start looking at his ship. He grinned and stepped out, putting on his most suave air, as he walked over to her and said, "Hey there... you like what you see?"

Naomi turns around and gives him a warm smile, putting on a cute polite young girl act, and says, "It's very interesting. I don't think I've ever seen one like it before sir." "And you're not so bad looking yourself." she adds with a little laugh. Then she asks, "Are you the captain?"

Josotox smiles, and says, "Damn straight, been taking this little baby out to see the galaxy... y'know, we could always use another crew member on our... little voyages."

"Oh? What's her name and purpose? I'm an enchanter by trade, you don't already have one do you?" she asked.

"Oh, she's called Dissonance, and a purpose? Just to see the stars, maybe pick up some loot along the way. And actually, I'm the only crewmember, so far. An enchanter would be useful."

"Ooh. That's an interesting name and a... romantic purpose. Is the pay a standard equal cut of profits or will you be paying wages captain?" Naomi asks maintaining her facade and mentally patting herself on the back.

Josotox thinks for a moment, or at least appears to think. Actually, he's attempting to read the vulpenid's mind.

Noami gives a startled twitch to the failed attempt, but otherwise acts like nothing happened.

Sensing nothing, he grimaces for a second, then puts on a happy grin and says, "Standard share of the loot, obviously. So, what's your name? I'm Josotox.

"Naomi DeSang, pleasure to meet you and join your crew Captain Jostox. Is it just Jostox?" she says, holding out her hand to shake, continuing to give a friendly smile.

He takes her hand and shakes it vigorously, saying, "Yeah. Last names don't mean too much to me."

"I see. Do I have permission to explore the ship Captain?" she asks.

Josotox simply steps aside, hitting a button on his holowatch that opens the hatch. He steps behind her as he waits to explore.

Bl4K-B34RD slowly drifts over to the docking bay of the patiently waiting. It had been waiting for something like this for years now so a few more minutes was next to nothing. In the meantime it began to reboot the systems that had been shut off to conserve power during the drift. Silently it also began to hope that random chance din't dictate that this particular space station wasn't abandoned.

As soon as the hatch is opened, Naomi goes in and explores the ship.

The interior of the ship turns out to be more chaotic than Naomi's initial examination alluded to, and it would be virtually impossible to explore if not for her hoverchair. At least you wouldn't have to worry about getting boarded, and the layout isn't TOO confusing. In the time it takes for Naomi to explore the ship Bl4K-B34RD lands in the station.

Bl4K-B34RD lands rather gracelessly upon the station and walks over to the most interesting looking ship nearby. The machine then makes a crude wave toward the winged humanoid standing out side. Ahoy there! Be you t' owner o' this fine ship? I be a mechanic lookin' for work upon the starry seas.

Naomi hearing the old timey piratey words comes quickly back (after making sure there were supplies, in particular rum) to see who was speaking. And she just stops and stares at what she sees before her.

The machine tries to give a friendly looking wave at the fox humanoid.

Naomi, not entirely sure what to make of this, tilts her head indicating mild confusion and waves back.

Josotox jumps with surprise at the... what IS it?/ After hearing it's offer, he grins and strolls over, shaking it's... appendage? He says, "In so many words, yes, a mechanic would be fantastic. And what might you - your name, be!" He grins nervously.

"I am called Bl4K-B34RD. Now who be you," The machine turns its head toward Naomi. "and what be your name foxy lass?"
