Hum's in the Dark

Noami exclaims, "Captain! Are you ok?" and rushes over to him.

Jos just shakes his head, and rambles, "T-t-t-that guy, i-it w-w-was a THING! And... and it's e-e-eating things, or breaking them... oh celestials. What have I done?" He shivers and wraps his arms around himself.

"What? So... that's a no then?" Noami says.

Josotox nods.

"Calm your britches Cappin. Take things at half mast and be telling what you be seeing."

Josotox gulps, and stands up, shaking a bit. "Alright... alright, I can... can handle this. I-I looked into this guy's mind, just a quick peak, and... there was something, and it was... it sounded like it was breaking bones. and it had teeth. Lots of them.

"Oh, so that's what you were trying to do to me earlier." Noami states and gives Jos a "shame on you" face.

"That be sounding dangerous nay that be sounding interestin' and a not half bad weapon." The robot then makes an unnatural parody of a smile.

Josotox shudders a bit from the... smile? Then turns to Noami and says, "Don't pretend you wouldn't have done the same thing with that sort of power, foxy." He turns back to the robot, "Maybe more for recon than weaponry, though you're right, it's a pretty cool power."

Noami shrugs, "Just because I would do something doesn't mean it's the 'right' thing to do." and gives Jos a whimsical smile.

"I don't think any of us would be here if we particularly gave the 'right' thing priority." He gives a wry grin.

"On the subject of things that are not right, what was with that mansion? Get any read on that?" Noami asks.

"Not from THAT... thing. We could ask around, see who owns it?"

"Would a name or local title mean anything to you? We're probably just as well just going there ourselves." Noami says with a shrug.

"Well, wait ,we can't just..." Wait a sec, Jos, gotta be manly, impress her. Jos sucks in his next breath and puffs his chest, suddenly speaking in a deeper tone. "Uh, I-i mean yeah, definitely, we can. Heh."

"Be ye trying to be a flirt? Now the plan is what now? Sneaky stealth, guile cunning, or good old fashione' breakin' the door down?"

"I figure some stealth is in order, Black-beard" Says Jos, ignoring the first part of his question.

"Oh, I figured we could just go up and knock. People tend to be less keen on shooting you if they know you're in the house before they spot you. But, I'll follow your lead if you guys want to go about it other ways." Noami says.

She then scoots over to the other side of Black Beard from Jos and whispers to him, "That wasn't very nice. And he's so much easier for us to manipulate if he likes me."

"Noted" in response to the entirety.

"Alright then, let's head out, if no one has anything more important? You two," He says, gesturing at the spider-lady and the lizard-man, "Stay here and, uh... guard the ship."

"Uh... before we leave. Can I ask what security measures you took and which of us you authorized to take command of the ship if you die? Or did you grant all of us command permissions?" Noami asks, really hoping he hadn't blindly trusted any of the others, but at the same time hoping he'd blindly trusted her.

"I'm not that stupid. I don't plan on dying, so this ship's only working for me. Otherwise, one of you would totally space me and take the ship. I've seen way too many holovids for that."

"Are you fucking kidding me you daft shitbird?" Noami asks in a growl, dropping all pretense of her nice girl act. "The first place we've gone and already it's fucking creepy and probably dangerous and if you happen to can it we're fucking stranded here because you think one of us is gonna kill you for THAT piece of junk!? Get your ass back in there and change it so someone gets control. You want to play it smart? Well let me give you a tip since you ain't got a clue. Don't tell us which one of us it is. Though, it doesn't fucking really matter one fuck since what spacequideity damned idiot would kill you for this ship I don't even know."

Jos' eyes widen, and he takes a step back. He opens his mouth slightly, then bursts into sobbing and runs back into the ship, locking himself in the control room.

"Cor, I think he was crying." Noami says surprised and then has to make an effort not to start laughing.
