Adelinde expression shifts somewhat oddly, her mouth drawn back into a line as she hums in her throat. Her hands testing on her hips and tail flicking to the right as she considers the ants ahead of them. "....yep." She says quietly to herself before clapping her hands together infront of her face twice. A small nimbus of silver clouds drifting from her palms before she reaches out and presses her hands to Ketha and Parveths backs for a moment. "I believe in you." She says in such a serious almost solemn tone that it sounds like a joke before quickly backpedaling a few paces away from the ants and strumming her lyre with a look of concentration..

The magic leaves a pair of glowing silver hand prints on their backs from which a thin silvery mist spreads over their bodies feeling vaguely invigorating like a cool breeze on a hot day.

As Adelinde retreats, two more ants push forward.

Parveth
The wood elf, imbued with new confidence, draws her bow with one of her few remaining arrows and mutters some arcane phrase. Her arrow glows slightly as she lines up the shot on the large creature directly ahead of them, and flies true as it strikes the bull ant. A wake of thorns follows it, raining upon the large beast and the multitude of smaller ants around it. Parveth follows the wake up with a final arrow to finish off a straggler that survived the thorns, before drawing her cutlass and shortsword. The ants would be close enough to strike her allies soon, and she intends to meet them before they could try.

Combat stuffs:

Paveth's barrage kills several of the smaller ants and leaves one of the larger ones barely standing, the massive ant looks like it's still in the fight though.

Meanwhile another small ant rushes forward, perhaps only to be the next struck down.

Confident that the two directly in a line in front of her would be able to pull most of the aggression, the water genasi makes a full body scooping motion, calling into form a large orb of her second favorite substance (fire). An arc of flame lashes out from the sphere, reaching out to make a possibly final blow on the ant already covered in thorns and an arrow.

Combat stuffs:

Steam ball of fire takes down a large ant, but one of the smaller ones flees from it, winding up next to her and gives her a good chomp.

One of the swarms of flying ants buzzes around Ketha, doing little more than annoying her at the moment.

Adelinde moves up behind steam, drawing her two swords and quickly swiping at the ant that attacked her.

Stuff:

After Adelinde takes out the smaller ant, the red ant walks around the ball of fire and stings Steam in the side with the large stinger on it's backside. It and the consequent poison hurt a great deal, but Steam manages to maintain concentration on her spell.

Then, seizing upon the fact that Adelinde moved so that the entire party is in one convenient line, an acid spraying ant fires a spray of acid at them as it is wont to do. Fortunately the spray winds up being on the weak side. Still the combined assaults leave Steam barely on her feet.

Acid Spraying Ant 1 moves from M3 to 04 and uses Acid Spray on Large Bull Ant 1, Ketha, Flying Ant Swarm 1, Parveth, Steam, and Adelinde. DC 10 Dexterity save for half damage. Large Bull Ant 1 saves and takes ? acid damage, Ketha saves and takes 2 acid damage, Flying Ant Swarm 1 fails and takes ? acid damage, Parveth saves and takes 1 acid damage, Steam saves and takes 4 acid damage, Adelinde saves and takes 1 acid damage.

Noticing Steam start to falter, the wood elf grabs one of her arms to support the genasi. She channels a bit of magic into her...let's say ally, as she says, "Come, Steam! Stand on a bit longer! You would not fall with so little a fight, would you?"

Steam mutters something about a nap as she straightens, somewhat reinvigorated.

"Hold the line!" calls out Ketha as she starts launching attacks at the largest ant in the tunnel...

As the massive ant falls, the swarms pour forwards and while Ketha makes a strong attempt to dissuade one the rushes past her it still gives Steam several nasty bites, though it could have been worse if Ketha hadn't managed to kill off half of the swarm. To make matters worse another massive ant and a large ant can be seen at the far side of the tunnel.

Flying Ant Swarm 2 moves from N6 to T4, provoking an attack of opportunity from Ketha. Ketha uses Booming Blade and hits, dealing 12 (resisted to 6) slashing damage and 7 thunder damage as booming blade's effect is also triggered as the swarm continues to move from S5 to T4.
Flying Ant Swarm then bites Steam for 3 piercing damage.

Feeling somewhat overwhelmed and not exactly enjoying the 'ants in the pants' sensation, Steam pulls her orb towards her, lashing out with another arc at the ants on her.

After letting the flame wash over her and remove the bugs, she quickly moves through some kind of flowing pose. A small, slightly bluish spark forms at the end of her fingertips, and she sharply jabs her hand at the ant in front of her. It strikes and the teal energy diffuses into the ant, sparking up periodically.

Confident that the ant won't do anything about it now, she leisurely takes a couple of steps away from it. To Ketha and Parveth she adds, in a voice that sounds more tired than stressed, "Just as a note, you girls look really flammable right now. Fire orb does not care who you are, fire orb sets flammable things to fire."

Combat Stuff:

The swarm on Steam burns away completely and failing to get past Ketha's armor another loses a good deal of mass to the flames as well.

Adelinde yelps at being splashed slightly by the acid and backs away with Steam, pulling out her crossbow as she retreats and taking a shot at the red ant that had closed in near her. Noticing Steam's looking pretty beat up once she does so, she quickly mutters a short magic chant to heal her wounds.

stuff:

Thanks to Steam's earlier spell, Adelinde escapes the reach of the red ant then finishes it off with a crossbow bolt. Steam feels a little more steady on her feet after the healing.

The massive ant moves closer to the group and the acid spraying ant moves up to Ketha and pointlessly gnashes it's mandibles against her plate armor.

It takes two tries, but Parveth cuts down the smaller ant and barely evades the wrath of the swarm as she backs away from the flaming sphere.

As Ketha retreats another of the swarms invades her space and manages to do enough damage that she actually feels it through the extra health granted by Adelinde's spell. The other nearby swarm goes after Parveth, but without the same success. Meanwhile a trio of ants arrive at the far end of the tunnel.
