After examining the three arrows for a bit she replies that she would be willing to trade them for 10gp a piece worth of her goods.

"Two and some coin for the adamantine then..." Parveth fusses with her pouch of gold and counts out a small pile of 30 gold pieces, and then begins moving handfuls of coins into a pouch until she's moved 340 pieces into it. "...and this should cover the remaining cost for the two flare arrows, yes?"

Trade:
--340 gp
Flare arrow x2 (340 gp net)

"Oh yes, plenty of those. Anything in particular you're looking for?" the younger drow asks. She also indicates a nearby bookshelf as if to say "you could also just look on your own, that's where they are".

((OOC yeah, anything in particular you're looking for? If not that's fine and you can just say you got something and I'll figure out what it was. Unless it's something real unusual it's going to be 25 gp no matter what it is since that's PHB price for books.))

Steam & Parveth (Bookstore)
At the bookstore, Steam slides amongst the shelves, grazing the tomes with her fingertips as she skims titles for text she can actually read (Gnomish). “Might you have a text that talks about a set of magical keys? People have been discussing them a surprising amount lately, and I wanted to make sure I was caught up.”
(Intentionally not saying she has one, can make a Deception if you really want.)

Parveth gives the two drow an acknowledging nod as she strolls the store, looking for Elvish script.

The bookstore drow both think about it for a bit and shake their heads in the negative.

The two books in Gnomish are....the Travels of Bulbous Bulleameon & The Fable of the Emerald Path.

The three books in Elvish are... Exile from the Feywild Part III, A Treatise on Elvish Nature, & the Tale of Autumn.

Ketha doesn't find anything in Common.

There's a single book in Draconic that's really thick in arcane lingo about theories about shadow and darkness magic. It's basically unreadable to anyone who doesn't have 14+ Int and training in Arcana. Even to those people it's complex and just... well it's like reading a scientific journal full of lingo it's inventing that you have to learn to understand new lingo it invents and espousing about stuff in an incredibly dry fashion. At least this is how it appears from a casual perusal. The book doesn't seem to have a title, as if the author figured it was appropriate or that anyone interested wouldn't really care about a title or just completely forgot to give it one.

There's a few books in Dwarven. One called Smithson (in dwarven) that's partially about dwarven smithing techniques and also dueregar culture and also part tale about the hard working life and troubles of a dueregar named Smithson.
There's a few dueregar myths and legends. One about the first encounter between a dueregar clan and a drow city. One about the failed and unfortunately "successful" attempts of a master craftsman to forge items with the dark of the Underdark itself. A few other more standard fair heroic stories (that are a bit questionable since their culture's heroic virtues don't perfectly align with what Ketha's might be), some seeming to be legendary while others appear to be more or less factual accounts and some that seem like they're a mix between the two.

Steam & Parveth (Bookstore)
Steam leafs through the two texts before confidently folding the Travels of Bulbous Bullaemeon under an arm and setting the Fable of the Emerald Path back on a shelf in the vague vicinity of where it had been. She’s excited to compare the life tale of another to her own.

Parveth picks up each individually, investigates the first couple of pages where the author’s note and introductory section generally are, and then sets it back before moving to check the next. After some thought, she moves back to collect all three of them, interested in the topic of the former, appreciating the intellectual approach of the next, and the parallels to her own life of the third.
Holding her three books and ready to checkout, she moves to Steam and holds out an open hand. “Your book.”

Steam looks confused for a moment and goes to hand her the Gnomish book. ”I can take that as well, but no, pass over your ritual book.” Her hand beckons at Steam again, who seriously contemplates for a moment before retrieving and passing over her book bound in red leather.

Parveth takes her small stack of books to the  two drow. “These texts interest me, and I was hoping you could copy a ritual or two into this tome.” She places a hand on the book bound in red leather.

And lo purchases/trades were made.
Archery Store
Adelinde: crossbow for burgundy chitin crossbow, the adamantine arrow, 20 serrated arrows, and 20 glass arrows.

Bookstore
Adelinde: 1 Ritual book for 50gp(45 with discount), 3 ritual spells inscribed for a combined 200gp (180 with discount), 1 map for 25gp(22.5 with discount)

Reminder: Paper please specify which books you're purchasing and add them to your sheet. You're kinda obligated to buy the draconic book now though cuz birthday present.

At some point your two guards lead you to three different weapons/armor shops that are supplied by the smithies of the city.

The first is run by a female drow. It's the most prestigious of such stores in the city.
It has blades of various kinds, a lot of it's inventory scimitars, shortswords, and daggers. There are only a few chain shirts and a single breastplate. While the goods all seem finely made and with about the level of artistry Parveth would expect of elven items, they aren't exceptional in any way that makes them clearly superior to similar items.
However there is one special item for sale hanging up on the wall in a place of prominence (and also a place high up enough that seems to state the owner isn't expecting the run of the mill person to be able to afford it so it's ok to have it be well out of reach).
Said item is a wicked looking scimitar with a jagged blade made of a metal so oily black that it seems to your eyes to be even darker than the sky on a moonless night.
((Arcana or (Int) Smith's tools check.))

The second store is run by a male drow. While less prestigious than the first store, it's goods still look to be of good quality.
Like the previous store, a lot of the inventory is focused on blades. This store doesn't have any armor, but it does have some shields.
It too has a special item, this one locked in a glass case.
A decently long saber (rapier stats, but slashing damage) made of what looks like a green jade, but it seems to hold a richness of color beyond the conventional understanding.
((Arcana or (Int) Smith's tools check.))

The third store is very different. It's run by a male duergar. The items here are also of good quality. They're less artsy and more focused on sturdiness. Rather than fine blades and daggers, the items are those that use brute force such as maces, mauls, two handed swords and axes. There are also various metal armors and shields.
This store too has a stand out item.
A set of plate armor made from thick bronze-ish colored chitin. The gauntlets have retractable claws that seem like they are designed to be able to be hidden inside the gauntlets.
((Arcana or Nature check.))

The stores also have various metal non-armor/weapons goods you can find in the PHB (or are just common items), so just ask if there's anything in particular you're looking for.

Steam & Parveth look at the goods in the blacksmiths. Parveth vaguely appreciating the craftsmanship, and Steam trying to think of cool stories they might be involved in.

Parveth:
Edgy Scimitar, Arcana: 3 = (1) +2
Jade Blade, Arcana: 10 = (8) +2
Chitin Guard, Nature: 7 = (3) +4

Steam:
Edgy Scimitar, Arcana: 3 = (1) +2
Jade Blade, Arcana: 17 = (15) +2
Chitin Guard, Arcana: 18 = (16) +2

Adelinde's rolls
13+4=17 arcana on the black scimitar
15+4=19 arcana on the jade saber
11+4=15 arcana on the plate armor

Ketha's rolls
scimitar: 16 + 4 = 20
saber: 13 + 4 = 17
plate armor: 8 + 4 = 12

Ok neat.

Adelinde somewhat recognizes this from stories, but Ketha knows exactly what metal the scimitar is made of. It's called Soulsteel and is a magical metal found in the Shadowfell. It carries an inherently intimidating effect, can damage incorporeal creatures as if they were solid, and any wounds caused by it are twice as difficult to heal.
((Mechanically speaking: +1 to Intimidation checks, treats incorporeal enemies as if they were physical (exact effects vary from creature), damage requires twice
as much healing to heal. (Example: 5 damage deal would require 10 hp of healing.) ))
Steam and Parveth had never heard of it before.

Ketha and Steam recognize the jade saber as being made from Exalted Jade, a magical form of jade that is richer of color and stronger than mundane jade. Adelinde can actually explain what it does. Which is to say that it's inherently lucky. Parveth only knew that green jade is the rarer kind and thus more expensive, not that that's relevant here.
((Mechanically: Reroll Nat 1s on attack rolls.))

Parveth only recognized the armor as made from chitin because of the stuff they saw at the bowyers. Ketha would have known that anyway. Adelinde could tell it was chitin from some kind of monstrous creature and not just a giant insect. Steam for who the hells knows why, realized the chitin was made from an Umber Hulk and would grant protection from confusion effects and maybe to some extent other things that might attack the mind.
((Mechanically: Immunity to any confusion type effect. +1 to saves vs effects that deal psychic damage. -1 psychic damage taken.
Has two claw weapons, I'll just say anyone proficient in martial weapons would be proficient with these, that can be retracted into the gauntlets giving advantage on any Stealth or Deception check to conceal their presence. The claws stats are: 1d8 slashing damage, light, can't be thrown, can't be disarmed.))

back in the bookshop
Adelinde looks around the shop for a bit before picking out a ritual book and getting some of her own rituals transcribed along with the addition of the Identify and Leomund's Tiny Hut spells.

Adelinde looks around the shops as she enters for a moment before moving towards the counter to speak with the shop keepers.

Shop 1

"Ho there!" She calls with a wave as she gets to the counter, waiting a moment for one of the guards to come up with her before turning her attention back to the shopkeeper and giving her a charming smile as she leans on the counter a little. "So that's a pretty cool looking sword up there! That's soulsteel right? I've heard legends about that stuff! If you don't mind, how'd you come across it?"

Shop 2

Adelinde moves up to the counter again, gesturing to one of the guards to follow her again before turning towards the shopkeeper. "Good...err, day? evening?" She says a little questioningly looking towards the guard before turning back to the shopkeeper. "Hello! That, is a beautiful sword!" She says indicating the saber "Exalted Jade right? Lucky stuff! Is there a story behind it? And is it for sale?" She asks with a grin.

Shop 3

Adelinde looks around a little, examining a set of Mason's Tool's for a bit before picking them up and moving to the counter. "That looks like it came from something pretty unfriendly." She muses at the counter after taking a moment to examine the armor from where she is before calling over a guard again. "Is there a story behind that? An adventuring trophy of yours maybe? Oh, and I'd like to buy these mason's tools please." She says indicating she means the armor to the guard and shopkeeper and setting the tools on the counter.

Shop 1
"Ah you know your stuff! Wonderful! Yes yes, it has quite a tale indeed. You know about the adventurers who go off into the Underdark looking for treasure yes? Well some time ago a large expedition, thirty three brave souls went out deep deep into the caves to explore a deep crevasse. This one is said to be so deep that it has no bottom. So deep that you can scale down it to a point where the darkness is so deep that the darkness itself snuffs out even the strongest of magical lights. They went deep down there. And they found a cavern. And in that cavern they found a portal to the Shadowfel. On the other side they were in a similar cavern, but instead of down a crevasse they were underneath a massive lake filled with monstrous things. But they were a well equipped group prepared for anything and everything they thought. So underwater travel was no concern to them. Still there were monster fish so big they hid from them. They slowly made their way up and up and up through the dark waters until they neared the surface. There they found the ruins of a castle sitting on the surface of the water. But the fact that it was stone anchored to nothing but water wasn't the amazing thing. The amazing thing is that it was anchored to the bottom of the surface and hung upside down with it's great spires and towers pointing down at them.
Now, I don't know what kinds of horrors they faced in there. All manner of Shades and horrible things I've heard. And wondrous and strange treasures. But it was a place of horrors and death. Of the thirty three who went into that place, only four came back. And when they came back they sold all of their treasures and their equipment and retired from the adventuring life. Except for their maps which they burned, hoping no one else would ever again find themselves in that horrible place.
And that is where the soulsteel came from. One of them sold it to the best smith I work with. And the smith spent three years honing their craft just to feel they were equal to the metal.
As for my side of things, it has some story for me as well. You see it is clearly the prize item of my store. Every drow who can swing a blade would like a blade like this if they don't already possess something with magic. And even some of those. But not many can afford it. There are three in particular who have tried to haggle me down and I have told them no. But each has been saving up their coin to purchase it before on of the others can. Because each believes it is rightfully theirs even though they have no bought it.
There is a young scion of a well to do house who wishes the hand of a lady of a more prestigious house than his. He believes that offering her this blade would win her and her family over. He is probably right. Then there are two adventurers who feel they are competing only with each other and have been going on more and more daring journeys into the caverns to see if they can find a treasure worth enough for them to trade for the blade before the other can."
She then leans in in a conspiratorial way and says, "But for me, it would amuse me to turn all three of them on their heads by selling this to you folks. So, might I ask, if you did purchase the blade, which of you would be the one to wield it?"

Shop 2
The shopkeep laughs a bit and replies, "Yes, good day travelers from afar! You have a fine eye I see! Indeed, exalted jade it is. The tale isn't much compared to some things, but it has one sure enough. The jade was mined out of the Crystal Cavern a long time ago, an exciting find I'm sure. If you haven't been to see it yet, you really should. It's quite the sight. So, right, one of my family members was the one who had claim to it and sold it to my favorite uncle. Who in turn had it made into a cavalry saber just before he wound up going into battle with the drow across the way."
At this point one of the guards with you interrupts and explains that by "across the way" the shopkeep means the drow from the other city, which they have battled on and off many times over the centuries. And by cavalry the shopkeep meant someone who rides spiders, in case you thought they meant a horse rider and notes that they don't have horses down here.
After this the shopkeep continues, "Yes well, as I was saying. My uncle took it out into battle. And he swore up and down and left and right that he only made it through at all, as wounded as he wound up, because of his lucky sword. Now he is very old and when I took over this shop, being his favorite nephew and he having no children, he gifted it to me wishing it would bring me luck in my venture... or at least a lot of money.
But I'm thinking maybe I should sell it you at a price I normally wouldn't, because you all surely bring good luck with you I feel. And a lucky blade would be fitting for luck bringers. So, I could see parting with it for two hundred gold pieces for you."

Shop 3
"Yeah it sure does doesn't it lass!" the dwarf replies and gives a deep bellied laugh. He gives a grunt and an appreciative nod at the more practical purchase and there is a quick exchange of coins and goods for the mason's tools before he says, "Yeah it has a story allright. I think you'll like this one." He laughs again and continues, "So see, I have these drow and adventurer types come in here pretty often asking this or that about how we make things or what we can make or stuff to see if we're really better smiths than them. Because no offense miss" he says to Parveth, "Of course we fuckin' are! They're still poncy elves' dark or no." He laughs again. "So one day one of thems asks what the craziest thing we've ever made something out of. And well, the answer to that is all sorts. And then for some reason they ask if we think we could work with chitin like them drow do. And I says it would be beneath us to work with some dang spider coverings. And they says 'Well how about an Umber Hulk then!' and I go "Hah! Umber Hulk! Even if you lot could take one down, no way you could do it and keep it's armor whole!' and they shout back all red in the face 'Oh you'll see you overweight boulder, you'll see!' and man did I and my pals ever have a laugh at that. But what'll you know, a month and a week later and the twerp and his friends come back, all of em together hauling this massive carcass. The whole fuckin' thing flesh and all mind ye! And they just dump it right down, THUD! Righter where you're standing now girly. And they says to me 'Well pay up, here's your raw goods as ordered, we'll see how good you lot are now won't we!' Oh man. Oh boy. And it sure was a challenge all right. I don't even know how long we spent working on the thing. I closed down the shop just to help out with it meself. But when we were done, we had this here monstrosity. When the lot of them came back to see, they had to admit we did damn fine work, just as good as their poncy chitincrafters. Of course none of them were actually interested in buying it OF COURSE! Hah! Bet none of em could even walk around if they'd ha' put it on." He gives a chuckle at this. "So it's been here since. Did a good job of attracting customers to see it just for the novelty, but it's too big for any of us smaller folk and too heavy from the whispy elves so, here it sits. But now here you come in. And yer big girl there, she clearly has wide enough shoulders to carry this on her. And I'm thinking some of yer surfacer armor would attract some new interest in my store. So I'd be willing to offer you a deal. See normally I wouldn't go under two thousand gold for this monster. But I'd be willing to trade it for the tall lass' armor and eight hundred coin to make up the difference."

Shop 1
Parveth eyes the shadowy blade and considers it. She mirrors the storekeep's conspiratorial lean, though is clearly less invested in the action. "Of our number, I suppose I would. It certainly is impressive, both in make and metal. I do not know we have a treasure you might reckon as equal to it though, except perhaps spiting those that believe it already belongs to them. And an amount of gold, of course." She sort of off-handedly adds this last part.

Shop 3
At the 'no offense' comment, Parveth just sort of hides any reaction. She's not offended, and in fact almost confused why he felt he needed to direct a comment at her. Rather, she's fairly surprised at how similar the duergar act to their dwarven cousins. She does cut a glance at the guard to see if they're giving her a 'get a load of this guy' look. It's not expected but the potential is there, and if so met Parveth is prepared to give back the appropriate 'yeah right?' look.

Parveth does get a somewhat similar reaction, as one of the guards rolls their eyes.

I'm just going to make a list of places you might spend money at you guys may wish to go. Please just copy/paste the list and put a bold Yes or No next to each item. Yes is for visiting it, not a promise to make purchases (as there's certainly places where you might be more interested in looking at stuff than buying).

-Tailor Shops
-Tanned Goods
-General Store (basically if you want any mundane stuff aside from weapons and armor from the PHB or just normal stuff in general that wouldn't clearly be somewhere else)
-Jewelry Shops
-Potions Shop
-Apothecary/Herbalist Shops
-Music Stores
-Art Supply Stores
-Art Galleries
-Florists
-Lizard Stables
-Spider Pens
-Spider Races (a form of gambling like horse races, but you're free to just watch if you want)

If anyone has anything in particular not on the list they'd like, please write it in.
